Not to be too cynical but...
The open source industry companies seem to mirror their closed source
counterparts almost exactly.
Corporate not-for-profits and foundations always gear their efforts for pure
profit results at the other end.
What linux really needs is continued development both in larger servers and
smaller clients (my interest :) and thats all done by linux folks everywhere.
